The House of Commons welcomed Albanian wines in an event organised on the 18th of October by the Embassy of Albania and Adam Holloway MP in association with the Albanian Ministry of Agriculture.
Six Wineries from Albania and Kosovo, Arbëri, Bardha, Çobo, Skënderbeu, Kokomani and Stone Castle presented their products in the magnificent Jubilee Room in the presence of Lords, MP-s, diplomats, the Honorary Consuls of Albania in the UK, Lady Bethell and Mr John Van Weenen, businessmen, representatives of the media and friends of Albania.
Mr Adam Holloway welcomed the Albanian producers, for the first time in London and in the British parliament, in the remarkable year of the 100th Anniversary of Albanian Independence. He emphasized the importance of this event for the promotion of the Albanian wines in the United Kingdom.
The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Albania, Z. Mal Berisha, underlined in his speech the excellent relationship between the two countries and expressed the gratitude of Albanians to the United Kingdom for its historical role in the proclamation of the Albanian Independence and the ongoing support to our country in the path of the EU membership.
The invitees had the unique occasion to taste some of the best Albanian wines produced with autochthon varieties such as Kallmet, Black and White Shesh Mereshnik, Mjaltëz,Serine.
